Geranium psilostemon

Quand nous avons commencé à cultiver le beau grand géranium Arménien, nous le croyions peu rustique (le climat du NB est bien loin de celui de l'Arménie méditerranéenne!) et le protégions l'hiver avec un épais paillis de feuilles mortes.  Non seulement il s'est avéré complètement robuste, mais il s'est mis à se ressemer ici et là. Son unique couleur magenta au coeur noir et sa haute stature le démarquent des autres géraniums. Son feuillage tourne du jaune au rouge brillant l'automne.  120cm  juillet-août


When we first started growing the Armenian geranium, we were cosseting it, trusting books that said it was tender and might not acclimatize to our cold climate. But not only did it prove totally hardy, but it started seeding itself a little, a sure sign of its happiness. Its vibrant magenta and black flowers and  upright habit sets it apart from other geraniums.  Its foliage goes yellow to bright red in the autumn. 120cm    July-Sept
