Iris orientalis

Cet iris est un parent des iris spuria modernes.  Rarement rencontré, il n’est pourtant pas difficile à cultiver et fleurit mieux dans notre climat frais que bien des hybrides.  Son port vertical est élégant et forme un bosquet avec le temps. Floraison en milieu d’été, après les iris de Sibérie.   100 cm   juillet
 
This is one of the parent plant of the modern spuria iris.  Rarely is it encountered in this country even though it is easy to grow and more floriferous than some of the hybrids (in our cool climate at least). It has a vertical presence and a loose clumping habit. Will form a large patch in time.  Latest of all iris to flower here, after the Siberians.  100 cm  July
